Privacy Policy

The operator of qipick (qipick.com, the "Service") handles your personal information as described below. Effective date: October 19, 2026
| Why we use it | To calculate today's results from the Five Elements of your birth date and name, to keep a signed-in user's profile the same across devices, and to improve the Service with visit statistics. |

| What our server stores | Date of birth (encrypted), solar or lunar calendar and leap-month setting, gender, five numbers counting the elements of your name's letters (your name itself is never sent), a random result number (profile_seed, created on your device and unrelated to your name or birthday), language setting (locale), and the unique ID from your sign-in provider (Google). Stored only if you sign in. |
| Required information | Date of birth (solar or lunar), gender and a name (a nickname is fine) are needed to calculate results; without them the Service can't be used. Signing in is optional, and you can use the Service without it. Only when you sign in are your date of birth and gender stored on our server; your name is stored only as element numbers and is never sent. |

| Analytics | If the date of birth you enter shows you are under 14, Google Analytics 4 is not loaded on that device, and it stays off in this browser even if you change the date of birth later. For users 14 and older, Google Analytics 4 loads only after you enter your profile, and uses cookies and device identifiers for visit statistics; this information is processed through a service provided by Google (a third party) and will be transferred to the USA. Your inputs, such as your date of birth and name, are not sent. Analytics data held by Google is pseudonymous. You can refuse cookies in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. |
| Under 14 | Under the privacy law of Korea, where we operate, users under 14 cannot create an account or sign in to sync. Users under 14 (stricter than COPPA's 13): data stays on the device, analytics is not loaded, and nothing is stored on our server. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. This standard does not limit any rights you have under the laws where you live. |
| Ads | The US version currently shows no ads. If we add ads, we will update this policy first. |
| Retention and deletion | When you delete your account, your personal information on our server is deleted right away. Database backups for disaster recovery (Cloudflare D1) may keep it for up to 30 days after deletion, after which it is destroyed automatically. |
| Service providers and international transfer | The operator is based in Korea, and your personal information will be transferred abroad for processing: hosting and database by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), and visit statistics by Google LLC (USA). Data is sent over the network when you use the Service, and is kept as described in "Retention and deletion" above and in each provider's policies. |
| Security | Your date of birth is stored encrypted, and communication with the Service is encrypted with HTTPS. |
| Your rights | You can view and edit your saved information anytime in the Me tab. When signed in, you can also delete your account there, and your data on our server is deleted right away (backups are kept for up to 30 days). For any other request to access, correct or delete your information, email innerkorea.official@gmail.com and tell us which sign-in method you use. |
| California residents | If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and the right to request that it be deleted or corrected. We do not sell or share personal information. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. For signed-in data, the Me tab lets you view, edit and delete it directly. You can also email innerkorea.official@gmail.com; we reply to the address you write from (we don't otherwise collect email addresses) within 45 days. Analytics data held by Google is pseudonymous; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. |
| Do Not Track and GPC | We do not track you across other sites, so we don't change anything based on Do Not Track signals. We treat Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a request to opt out of sale/sharing — and we don't sell or share personal information. |
